About Southern Lakes Motors

Southern Lakes Motors commenced operation on the 1st March 2019 when they officially took on the Nissan franchise for the Queenstown region.  They expanded a month later, adding the Mitsubishi franchise.

Southern Lakes Motors are excited to be the first Nissan and Mitsubishi representatives based in the Queenstown region, and to have the opportunity to offer Central Otago residents access to two respected automotive brands in a convenient location close to other great retail outlets.

The main dealership is at 142 Glenda Drive, Frankton.  This dealership underwent extensive renovations in 2018, including the installation of a brand new service and parts reception.  This branch offers full sales, parts and service facilities on-site, with a great selection of used cars and commercial vehicles.

In late 2020 Southern Lakes Motors extended their operations, opening a new Service Centre at 11-13 McCormick Street in Three Parks, Wānaka.  This branch has been purpose-built to meet the requirements of a full service centre.  The Wānaka branch offers customers in the Wānaka area and surrounding districts the convenience of choosing between Queenstown or Wānaka for parts, servicing, repairs, and warrant of fitness inspections.   

Southern Lakes Motors is owned by The Colonial Motor Company Ltd, which owns and operates a number of vehicle dealerships representing multiple brands throughout the country.

They are also involved in the distribution and retailing of DAF and Kenworth trucks, and an agricultural company in Southland with branches in Otago and Central Otago.
